Framingham voters can return their mail-in ballots at a new location for this year’s general election: a ballot drop-box in front of the McAuliffe Library.
The box is next to the library main entrance (don’t confuse it with the old drive-up return box in the middle of the parking lot! That box is now being used for mask/face-covering donations). The City Clerk’s office says it is under 24-hour-a-day video surveillance for security.
Voters can also return their ballots to a drop box next to the Memorial Building (city hall) downtown, in person at the City Clerk’s office when it’s open (Monday-Thursday 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 3:30 to 4 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 to 10 a.m.), or send it in by postal mail. Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on November 3 to be counted.
Mail-in ballots for the Nov. 3 general election have started arriving this week.
You can still apply for an absentee/vote-by-mail ballot until October 28. However, it’s advisable to apply earlier than that to make sure you receive your ballot!
In-person early voting will only take place in the Memorial Building, Nevins Hall. There’s no second early voting location at McAuliffe Library this year because the library doesn’t have enough space for safe voter social distancing. In-person early voting starts Saturday, October 17. See the City Clerk’s website for the full schedule.
Polls will be open as usual on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. as well. Voters will be required to wear mask and maintain social distancing.
