Brandon Foster Ward and Sean C. Silk both requested nomination papers today to run for District 2 City Council in the November election. That follows yesterday’s announcement by City Councilor Cesar Stewart-Morales that he was not running for re-election.

In addition, District 2 School Committee Member David Tomas Gordon requested nomination papers to run for re-election.

Ward is currently a Friends of Saxonville board member. According to Ward’s profile on the FOS site, he is Senior Program Manager for Fellowship Operations at Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for Public Leadership.

Silk posted in the District 2 Facebook group that he had pulled papers, saying, “Looking forward to hearing your ideas for the city and building great things.” He supported Ricky Finlay for the seat in 2019.

David Gordon was appointed District 2’s School Committee representative last June following Finlay’s resignation from that position. Finlay was required to leave the School Committee after taking a paid job with the city.

Nomination papers are due to the City Clerk on July 14.
