FRAMINGHAM – A group of veterans and supporters will be visiting area historic cemeteries for Memorial Day on Monday, May 26, assembling at 8 am in the Memorial Building, according to the city newsletter.

After planned stops elsewhere in the city, the group is scheduled to visit St. Stephens Cemetery on Fenwick Street at 9:20 am, St. George Cemetery on Cherry Street at 9:40 am, Edwards Cemetery on Edwards Street in Saxonville at 10 am, and make a final stop for refreshments at Rousseau Garage on School Street at 10:20 am.

The city’s main program starts at 11 am in the Memorial Building.

MEMORIAL DAY 26 MAY 2024 CEMETERY VISITS  Main text: As tradition holds a group of Patriotic Veterans and supporters will travel to Framingham’s Historic Cemeteries to honor Deceased Veterans at their resting place. Remembrances, prayers, honor guard rifle salute and patriotic music will occur at each location. Please join us to honor our Veterans.  Schedule:  8:00 AM: Assemble at City Hall - Memorial Building  8:15 AM: St. Tarcisius Cemetery / Old South Cemetery – Winthrop Street  8:40 AM: Old Burial Ground – Main Street – Buckminster Sq.  9:00 AM: Edgell Grove Cemetery – Grove Street  9:20 AM: St. Stephens Cemetery – Fenwick Street  9:40 AM: St. George Cemetery – Cherry Street  10:00 AM: Edwards Cemetery – Edwards Street  10:20 AM: Rousseau Garage – School Street (Refreshments)  Closing note in red text: A City sponsored program will take place at 11:00 am in the Memorial Building - Nevins Hall with the presentation of Liberty and Fidelity Awards to Veterans’ Families.  At the bottom of the flyer is an image of military graves each marked with small American flags. The flyer has a patriotic border with red, white, and blue stripes and stars.
