
FRAMINGHAM – Events this weekend:
The city’s second annual Framingham ‘Find Your People’ fair, aimed at helping residents discover groups and activities they might be interested in joining, takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 am to 1 pm downtown in Nevins Hall in the Memorial Building, 150 Concord St. More than 50 groups are expected to participate. Admission is free.
There will also be some musical, dance, and other performances on stage during the fair.
The event is part of a nationwide observance of Good Neighbor Day, with a goal to help combat loneliness. The Wayland Free Public Library, 5 Concord Road in Wayland, is sponsoring free live music (’50s and early ’60s rock and roll by Retro Polatin) outside on their front lawn from 11 am to noon tomorrow, including donuts, cider, games, sidewalk chalk and giant bubbles. Organizers are also seeking non-perishable donations to the My Brother’s Table food pantry .
Goodnow Library in Sudbury is having cider, coffee, and donuts along with “community activities” from 10 am to noon tomorrow. They are also seeking non-perishable donations, to the Sudbury Food Pantry collection.
It’s also city election season, and Access Framingham television is hosting a Mayoral Debate Forum on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm at the main library’s Costin room, also downtown (49 Lexington St.). If you want to attend live, doors open at 2 pm. The debate will be streamed live at accessfram.tv/live and be broadcast on various cable channels including Comcast Channel 9, Verizon Channel 43, and Astound HD Channel 1100.
