FRAMINGHAM – Weather is looking perfect for the Framingham Day free family festival this Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 am to 3 pm on the Framingham Centre Common (Edgell Road and Oak Street). Framingham FEST is scheduled to feature more than 90 booths, live entertainment with dancing and bands including Los Sugar Kings headlining at 2 p.m., food vendors and trucks, and a Framingham Public Schools mascot competition at 12:15 pm.

Attendees can park at Plymouth Church and First Parish Church. There’s also parking at Framingham State University’s Salem End lot (with the solar canopy) after noon.

National Weather Service is calling for sunshine and temperatures in the upper 70s. 🎉

The event was organized by the city’s 325th anniversary committee.

On Sunday, the Rotary Club and Transition Framingham are hosting a Repair Cafe from 2 to 5 pm at Scott Hall, 24 Vernon St. “Enjoy a free drink and a snack, have fun, and work with a volunteer to repair your broken household item!” organizers say.

“Our volunteers can help fix many things for free including: clothing, lamps, small appliances, computers/other electronics, bikes, batteries, toys, jewelry and sewing machines. We will also have a station for sharpening straight knives, scissors and garden tools. If you know what parts are needed, please get them ahead of time.”
