FRAMINGHAM – I’d like to say a big thank you to all four of our District 2 candidates: City Councilor Brandon Ward, challenger and former Planning Board Chair Carol Spack, School Committee member-elect Lorena Tovar, and School Committee member David Gordon.

We were the only district in the city to have contested races for both City Council and School Committee. And IMO all of our candidates were extremely well qualified. Even more important, they care about public service for our neighborhood and our city. We were so fortunate! What a pleasure it was to vote for “Who do I want more, even though I like them all.”

As District 2 resident Adam Blumer, who chaired the Charter Review Committee, posted on Facebook: “All the candidates (and especially the new ones): Even If I don’t agree with you, I appreciate you! Running for office is hard work - physically and emotionally. Every person who runs adds to a discussion of issues in the community and provide us choice.”

Also as Adam said: Thanks to our election workers, who made yesterday possible.

And, of course, congratulations to the winners: City Councilor Brandon Ward and School Committee member-elect Lorena Tovar! I look forward to seeing what’s ahead in the coming session.

Below are our two City Council candidates at Walsh Middle School (Sorry I missed taking photos of our School Committee candidates, I don’t regularly cover School Committee):
