FRAMINGHAM – The Community Preservation Committee is holding a public hearing tonight on projects being considered for CPA (Community Preservation Act) funding. The hearing starts at 7 pm in the Blumer Community Room at the Memorial Building (City Hall, 150 Concord St.) or on Zoom.
Local projects include:
Getchell Trail middle section - $157,000 to improve the final piece of the trail. The North and South sections are already completed with boardwalks, viewing areas, and accessibility for those with mobility issues.
Eastleigh Farm - $500,000 to preserve about 100 acres of farm land as open space through a deed restriction. This project would include a public trail easement for connection to trails at Callahan State Park. ($3 million was requested.)
Design Access for Simpson Park - $250,000 for improved access, parking, and “overall usability”
Walsh-Dunning Softball Field Complex improvements - $327,500 to design improvements such as an amenities building, scoreboards, fencing, and a new lower field with dugouts.
43-45 Nixon Road – $250,000 to partner with Sudbury Valley Trustees (which would also contribute $250,000) to acquire 9 acres of land for conservation. Trails will be created to connect to the Bay Circuit Trail.
