FRAMINGHAM – The Danforth Art Museum & School is sponsoring a free arts festival this Saturday, July 18 from noon to 3 pm.

“Participate in awesome make-and-take art activities, watch masterful artist demonstrations, enjoy a museum scavenger hunt, and help create a collaborative work of art,” according to the event announcement. “Meet and hear from artists who are represented in the 2026 Danforth Annual Juried Exhibition. Food trucks [Grub Guru and Dylan & Pete’s Ice Cream], storytelling, poetry, music, DJ entertainment, and more.”

There will be an en plein air painting demonstration by Paul Hackett, as well as monotype printmaking with Paula DeSimone at noon and single line painting with Ryan Horton at 1 pm. “Drop in, observe, and ask artists questions on their methods, materials, or inspirations,” the Danforth suggests.

In addition, attendees can drop in on music by The Brazilian Project at 11:45 am and 1:45 pm, bilingual storytelling with Rejane De Musis at 12:45 pm, and a poetry performance with Cole Rodriguez also at 12:45 pm, according to the schedule on the Danforth website. DJ mortimer will be playing music out on the museum back lawn.

Caricaturist A.J. Jerrett and airbrush tattoo artist Kids Party Productions are also expected at the event.

The Danforth Museum is at 14 Vernon St. Free parking is available in the museum lot behind the building, accessible via Grove Street. Other parking will be available at Framingham Centre Nursery School, First Parish, and Village Hall on the Common (lots will have signs for Danforth Event Parking).

MWRTA bus routes 2 and 3 also pass near the museum, and the bus is free.
