With only one week to go until Framingham’s first-ever city general election, it seemed like a good time for a roundup of our District candidates!

A former state legislator, School Committee Member and Town Meeting Member, Richardson says she wants to work on 4 key issues:

  • Protect essential funding for schools, public safety, library and senior citizen services;
  • Support small businesses in Nobscot and Saxonville;
  • Work with other elected officials and neighborhood groups to revitalize neighborhoods and address blight; and
  • Help implement new policies and traditions during the transition from town to city government.

A Precinct 5 Town Meeting Member, Bullock chaired the Town Meeting Capital Budget Committee. She told the Metrowest Daily News: “Because I have lived here, raised two children and taken advantage of the many services available to our residents both young and old, I know how all aspects of our government affect us all. I want all the residents and employees of Framingham treated with respect by our elected officials. I will start by listening to the residents of District 2 and bringing their desires to the City Council.”

Richard Finlay is running unopposed. I asked if he’d like to participate in the candidate questionnaire anyway, and he suggested people read his Q&A on the Framingham Source, which asked many of the same questions.
