The owner of Pizza Wagon plans to open Wagon Creamery sometime next month, Lynne Damianos reports in the Friends of Saxonville Spring 2025 newsletter. The new ice cream shop will be in the same School Street/Hamilton Street plaza as Pizza Wagon, near Walgreens and the start of the Cochituate Rail Trail.

Wagon Creamery will feature hard ice cream from Crescent Ridge Dairy (Sharon, MA) in 24 flavors, soft serve, and Italian coffee from Boston King Coffee (Woburn, MA), Damianos said, as well as cannolis and breakfast goods. There will be indoor seating as well as takeout.

While the neighborhood lost a great summer ice cream stand at the old Gerard Turkey Farm on Water Street, we’ll now have two local options for ice cream year-round: Wagon Creamery in Saxonville and Murphy’s Eats and Treats in Nobscot on Edgell Road, which serves Richardson’s ice cream as well as other dessert treats, sandwiches, burgers, and seafood. Just a little farther away there’s also Mad Willie’s in Framingham Centre on Rte. 9 near Edgell Road, which also serves Richardson’s ice cream (and my favorite soft-serve frozen yogurt - they add the flavors to order - and other goodies).

In season, we also have Eastleigh Farm and Hanson’s Farm in Nobscot / northwest Framingham.
