Mike Fritz Quartet plays at last night’s jazz concert outside the McAuliffe Library

FRAMINGHAM – There will be three more outdoor jazz concerts at McAuliffe Library this season: August 7, 14, and 28. All three are Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 pm at Astronaut Grove, behind the branch library building. In case of bad weather, concerts move indoors.

On August 7, Boston jazz vocalist and Berklee College of Music lecturer Kaoruko Pilkington returns. She has performed at several past years’ series as well.

On tap the following Thursday, August 14: vocalist and pianist/accordionist Sasha Papernik and guitarist and vocalist Justin Poindexter.

Local group Harmony Grove wraps up this summer’s series on August 28. The group is jointly led by Willie Sordillo and Zoë Krohne, with “a diverse repertoire of original compositions and personal interpretations of known and obscure jazz, folk, Latin, and pop songs,” according to the library announcement. They’ve also played at past library and Concerts on the Commons events.
