Russell’s Garden Center in Wayland hosts a special outdoor Thanksgiving Farmers’ Market this Sunday, 10 am to 2 pm in their back parking lot. The outdoor market will be held rain or shine.
The market will feature fresh foods and ingredients as well as prepared foods from vendors including Winter Moon Roots (locally grown organic root vegetables), Rosemary Acres (herbs and spices), Piping Plover Baking Co. (with gluten free and vegan baked goods), Fraulein’s Bakery (German baked goods), Aaronap Cellars (wines), and more. The market will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Sudbury Community Food Pantry. See more info on vendors.
The annual Framingham Interfaith Thanksgiving Service: Gratitude Together is also this Sunday, 5 pm, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 3 Maple Street in Framingham Centre. Proceeds raised will go to the Pearl Street Cafe & Food Pantry. The event will include a Special Message for Kids and a “fun craft,” according to an event announcement.
Singers who would like to join the service choir to sing “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace” are asked to arrive before 4:30.
And, the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 2025-26 season featuring virtuoso Ukrainian saxophonist Vladyslav Dovhan in a concert to include Fantasy on Porgy and Bess for alto sax and orchestra, Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony, and more. The concert is this Sunday at 2 pm.
Metrowest Symphony Orchestra is the orchestra in residence at Framingham State University. Tickets are $20, $10 for seniors/students/veterans, and free for the FSU community and children under 12. If you’re looking for something Thansgiving-themed to do on Monday, McAuliffe Library’s Monday Matinee is “Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” - a Chicago advertising exec struggles to travel home for the holiday. Monday, 2 pm. Featuring Steven Martin and John Candy.
And, if you’re in the Callahan Center demographic (55+), there’s a Season of Thanks Social at the center on Monday at 2 pm, but you need to register by today (Nov. 21, 508-532-5980, open until 4:30 pm today). It will feature Chris Carter on acoustic guitar, “harvest desserts and festive drinks.” More details in the November Callahan Courier.
