Community Q&A Thursday on Demolition of 1639 Concord Street

The session will be hosted by the owner of Saxonville Mills, who purchased the property. Ultimate plans call for the city to acquire that parcel as part of the McGrath Square renovation project. There will also be a city-sponsored public meeting on this sometime in the future.

FRAMINGHAM – Saxonville Mills is hosting a “community Q&A regarding the demolition of 1639 Concord Street” this Thursday, January 15, from 5 to 5:30 pm at Saxonville Mills Cafe & Roastery, according to a post on Facebook.

District 2 City Councilor Brandon Ward further explained in a Facebook post: “The brick building on the corner of Danforth Street and Concord Street was recently acquired by Charlotte Maynard, the owner of the Saxonville Mills. The building is planned for demolition in the coming months.

“Once demolished, the City hopes to acquire this property and incorporate it into the McGrath Square redesign plans to fundamentally fix the intersection once and for all (this project is in the Mayor’s FY27 capital budget).

“There will be a future meeting this spring with DPW and City officials to discuss those specific plans, but if you have any questions regarding the demolition, Charlotte is hosting a drop-in Q&A next Thursday at the Saxonville Mills cafe!”
