FRAMINGHAM – Want to know if there will be vendors selling coffee or tea at this week’s Farmers Market? Who might be there selling fresh produce? For fun, I’ve created an interactive Web app that lets you search a table of vendors and vendor descriptions – plus ask an AI chatbot questions about that info. If of interest, you can try it out at https://www.district2framingham.com/farmersmarket .
⚠️Cautions: This is unofficial! And it’s a work in progress! And, especially for the chatbot, AI can make mistakes and isn’t always complete!

Why create another app if there’s already an app? The official app lets you search by vendor name but not description. So unless there’s “tea” in the vendor’s name, you can’t search to see who might be selling tea. The table of vendors and descriptions lets you search by both.
Why add a chatbot and not just use the table? Honestly, because I love building things with generative AI 😅But also, it can be difficult to search for something like “fresh produce” – many farms may not include that in their descriptions, and then you have to try to guess all the words they might be using instead.
